I started a new job on 3 weeks ago. I left the phone company. I was recruited by a firm that provides outsourced learning solutions – books, training manuals, e-learning, the system that hosts the e-learning, etc.
I’m in “Managed Services” which doesn’t really exist yet. We’ll sell you the system. I’ll sell you someone to manage it so you don’t have to worry about it. I will also sell you a facility and an
instructor to do your live-person training. Anywhere in the world.
I was brought in by a guy I used to work with at Sutherland. It is an INSANE opportunity. It is such a cool place to work. In the past week…
- I’ve sat down with my boss 3 times for an extended, relative discussion.
- We had a company meeting (600ish people) which they do twice a year. There was a band. There was a guy in a chicken suit. The format was like being on Letterman.
- We had a staff meeting – which they do weekly. Relative information was exchanged. Communication was had by all. Kudos were FORMALLY dispensed. (Mind-blowing).
- I just got a coupon in the mail for a free turkey for Thanksgiving.
I’ve was in San Antonio, Texas this week for a managed services conference. Learned a ton.
