In this book, Christopher Ryan and Cacilda JethÁ debunk almost everything we “know” about sex, weaving together convergent, frequently overlooked evidence from anthropology, archaeology, primatology, anatomy, and psychosexuality to show how far from human nature monogamy really is. I am interested in Ryan and Jetha's commentary on agriculture and how it basically ruined everything.

Tim Ferriss' book on nutrition and exercise. He is interested in human optimization. I am someone that has been on a multi-year mission to improve my health. 4HB has played a role. This book introduced me to the concept of the "cheat day." Eat the low to no-carb plan he recommends but then one day per week, gorge yourself on bad stuff. All in an effort to keep your metabolism off balance.

This is an excellent book/primer on Systems Thinking. It teaches how to understand the interconnectedness between just about everything. On one hand its a process flow text book. On the other, it is straight up Buddhism. Super interesting read. Teaches systems-thinking skills that would make the world a better place if everyone learned them.

Excellent guidebook for figuring out what is important to you. I am a big fan of "what gets measured gets done." How do you allocate your time? This work was one of many catalysts that got me OFF the climb-the-corporate-ladder treadmill. I started looking at how I was allocating my time. It got me thinking about how dis-satisfied I was with my career. It sparked change.

Smart. Simple. Clear. Concise. No nonsense advice for how to start your side-hustle. Quitting your "real" job and starting a business in your spare bedroom is a fantasy. Once you figure out how you are allocating your time you can then cut the fat and fill those cycles with your side hustle. I like the one page business plan approach. If you can't articulate your value proposition in one page, you need to think about it a LOT more.

Neuromancer and Snow Crash with a heavy dose of late 20th century pop culture and gaming references abound! Excellent book for Generation X.

When it came to my research, I never took any shortcuts. Over the past five years, I’d worked my way down the entire recommended gunter reading list. Douglas Adams. Kurt Vonnegut. Neal Stephenson. Richard K. Morgan. Stephen King. Orson Scott Card. Terry Pratchett. Terry Brooks. Bester, Bradbury, Haldeman, Heinlein, Tolkien, Vance, Gibson, Gaiman, Sterling, Moorcock, Scalzi, Zelazny.
